In recent years I have moved to the region north of Eltham, and am slowly developing a sense of place here. I would like to make a contribution to this area and feel called to celebrate the natural beauty.
I am in the process of expanding my practice to include Eltham and surrounding areas. This will include individual and group offerings, both in-person and online.
I am still imagining-into the exact format of this project. Likely it will involve:
Nature-based arts workshops
Poetry
Movement
River walks and bird sits
Collaborations with local artists and wildlife-loving folk
I’m curious how therapy might include reciprocity with our natural environment
Longer-format eco-therapy sessions (for individuals, friendship groups, couples)
Individual counselling sessions (I’ll likely lean more towards Hakomi as it’s tricky to maintain two full art therapy rooms)
Online sessions also available.
My waitlist is now open for both Eltham-based and online session enquires. I also invite expressions of interest and will soon commence a monthly newsletter to keep people abreast of developments and offerings.
Rivers
I have had a love of rivers since childhood. I grew up boating on the Murrundi (Murray River) and exploring the Coorong, including a special memory of swimming with dolphins near the river mouth; living in Garramill (Darwin) and Gagudju (Kakadu) those waterways evoke a particular energy, knowing they are populated by Crocodiles; in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) it was the mysterious dry riverbed of Lhere Mparntwe (The Todd River) which I have seen flow twice, which is quite a scene. Through my journey as a therapist, the Birrarung (Yarra River) particularly has acted as teacher and muse, a place of both release and holding. It therefore feels fitting that the expansion of my practice is occurring just further along the Birrarung from the Inside This River clinic location in Northcote.
